The Pontifical Salesian University (UPS), through the Institute of Pedagogical Methodology of the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FSE), offers an Advanced Course on Accompaniment of boys and young people in relation to the affective and sexual dimension to respond to the emerging educational needs in the youth world.
1. PURPOSE
The purpose of the course is to train participants to have a deep understanding of affective and sexual development, as well as related themes with attention to complexity.
To enable participants to acquire design and methodological skills to address these themes in their own contexts with clear foundations in biological, psychological, and anthropological areas with a view to a pastoral horizon.
2. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the course, participants will have acquired:
- design, methodological, and transversal skills useful for understanding, positioning themselves, making proposals, building educational alliances, and managing transformative processes in complex relational situations and contexts;
- design and methodological tools for understanding and intervening in situations related to the education of young people in affectivity and sexuality;
- new information on current phenomena, themes, and intervention experiences in various specific sectors in the field of affectivity and sexual life of boys and young people;
- a better understanding of Christian anthropology concerning affectivity (theology of the body, the Church and changes in affective culture, moral orientations).
3. METHODOLOGIES
Respecting the complexity of the themes and the need to promote design and methodological skills, the course proposes a conduction method based on "learning by doing." Methodologies that can be applied in their own contexts with moments of reflection, discussion, and verification will be used.
The residential days will be characterized by mornings focused on in-depth study of various themes and afternoons dedicated to the acquisition of methodologies and design tools, with a final moment dedicated to testimonies from those working in the field.
Many moments of personal and group reflection will be proposed to promote attention to one's experiences, stimulated through various active teaching methodologies such as creative writing, classroom games, self-cases, and role-playing.
