Green UPS ISO 50001

The energy efficiency initiative, launched in November 2021 in collaboration with Global Power Service, has led to the achievement of ISO 50001 Certification, which attests to the efficiency of the energy management systems implemented by UPS.

The entire academic community, including staff, students, faculty, and residents, are actively involved in this initiative and in the increasingly attentive care of our “common home”.

This represents a renewed vision of the relationship between humans and nature, which not only involves reducing plastic use or employing renewable energy sources but also addresses food waste, climate change, and sustainable mobility.

In a time of great drought and extraordinary natural phenomena, we courageously renew our commitment to protecting the Planet, as recently reminded by Pope Francis, aiming to continuously improve our daily actions to promote a new “ecological culture”.

We can certainly affirm that we are, in every respect, an Eco-community.

Energy Management System ISO 50001

The purpose of the Energy Management System (EMS) is to enable an organization to take a systematic approach to achieve continuous improvement in energy performance, including energy efficiency, use and consumption.

A Management System specifies a systematic approach to follow in pursuing the specific objectives of the system.

This approach is articulated through the recursive execution of four processes:

  1. Planning
  2. Implementation
  3. Verification
  4. Review
