Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM, in the Juan Vecchi Hall at the Pontifical Salesian University, the official presentation of the miscellany Salesian texts and contexts will take place.
This collective volume was created as a tribute to Prof. Aldo Giraudo, a highly regarded figure in the study of Salesian spirituality and history.
The event will provide an opportunity to reflect on the academic and formative legacy of a scholar who seamlessly combined rigorous research with educational passion, leaving a lasting impact on Salesian studies and the education of generations of students.
The title of the volume, Salesian texts and contexts, encapsulates the methodological approach that characterized Don Giraudo's entire body of work: a careful study of sources (texts), always interpreted in light of their living environment (contexts). This paradigm, applied to documents, letters, sermons, and testimonies, is clearly reflected in the essays collected in the miscellany, which range from pedagogy to catechesis, from Salesian spirituality to missionary commitment across various historical periods.
The volume aims not only to pay homage to a scholar but also to serve as a tool for continuing an active and relevant exploration of "salesianity" with renewed enthusiasm.
