A memorable day filled with spirituality, remembrance, and shared joy: this is how May 23 unfolded for the academic community of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS), which celebrated its Jubilee at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, coinciding with the festivities for the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians.
The jubilee event was a moment of great grace, offering students, faculty, and all members of the academic community a unique opportunity to renew their faith and educational commitment in the light of Don Bosco's charism. The solemn liturgy was presided over by the Rector Magnificus, Prof. Don Andrea Bozzolo, who, in his homily, emphasized “the importance of walking together as an educating community, witnessing the Gospel with kindness and hope”.
The entrance into the Basilica was marked by the passage through the Holy Door, a symbolic gesture that officially inaugurated UPS's jubilee year, the beating heart of Salesian formation worldwide.
The large group then gathered at the Josephites' headquarters for a communal meal and the traditional festive moment that has always characterized the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians. Adding even more significance to the celebration was the participation of the community from the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences "Auxilium".
May 23, 2025, will remain in the collective memory of the Pontifical Salesian University as a day of grace, rich in meaning, bringing together tradition and modernity, spirituality and celebration, study and fraternity, under the loving gaze of Mary Help of Christians.
