University Pastoral Ministry

Sports animation

The University Pastoral promotes sports disciplines throughout the year: Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Ping Pong.

The Group takes care of organizational aspects, advertising, registrations, match schedules, sports field arrangements, refereeing, score control, etc., and manages the times when the sports fields can be used, even outside of tournaments.

The Group is coordinated by Prof. Don Pawel Wator (pwatorsdb@gmail.com), with the collaboration of various students.

RULES

Matches are held on Tuesdays (13:10 / 14:00), Wednesdays (12:15 / 13:00) and Thursdays (13:10 / 14:00). Teams must arrive on time at the gym. If a team arrives 10 minutes late, they automatically forfeit the match.

The match consists of 2 sets or 3 in case of a tie. A team wins the first two sets if they reach 25 points. The third set is up to 15 points.

Time out: At points 8 and 16 (duration 1 minute).

Match points:

  • Match won 2 sets to 0 = 3 points
  • Match won 2 sets to 1 = 2 points
  • Match lost 2 sets to 1 = 1 point
  • Match lost 2 sets to 0 = 0 points

The Captain is the team’s representative and the only one authorized to speak with the organizers or the referee.

In cases of uncertainty, the referee may repeat the action.

If the player at bat touches the sideline with its foot, the opposing team receives a point.

The server may serve only after the referee’s whistle

If a player “carries” the ballduring a pass or touch, the referee may decide not to call a foul unless the touch is repeated after a warning.

Players are not allowed to stay in the same position on the court during the match.

Accidental contact with the net is not considered a foul.

Contact with the top band or tape of the net is considered a foul and a point is awarded to the opposing team.

Substitutions must be reported to the referee and made during a stoppage in play after the referee’s consent.
