In recent years, podcasts have established themselves as one of the most dynamic and accessible formats for content consumption, capable of blending storytelling, in-depth analysis and sharing.
The open lesson Podcast: the renaissance of sound narration provided an opportunity to explore this medium through a discussion with Andrea Borgnino, editorial director of original podcasts at RaiPlay Sound, Rai’s digital platform for streaming and on-demand listening.
Promoted within the course Theories of audiovisual forms and narratives (CB0220) by professors Cosimo Alvati and Donato Lacedonio, the event examined the expressive potential of podcasts, their production logic, and the role of audio in contemporary media.
Journalist, author, and radio host, Andrea Borgnino has collaborated with Radio3, Radio1, and Gr RAI. He was the New Media Manager at the EBU in Geneva and published the book Radio Pirata (Persiani Editore, 2010). Since 2021, he has been leading original podcasts at RaiPlay Sound and curates the column Interferenze on Radio3.
