Catechetics

The Catechetics curriculum aims to provide basic and specialized training to qualify teachers, research and project managers, leaders and coordinators at catechetical offices, catechist trainers, experts in study and editorial centers, in the fields of initial proclamation and ecclesial catechesis. Additionally, the curriculum offers specialized training to operators in initial proclamation, catechesis, and the field of New Media, enabling them to organize, manage, and promote ecclesial activities according to new interdisciplinary methodologies.

The curriculum includes a common bachelor’s cycle and, at the licentiate level, is divided into two tracks: Catechetics and Catechetics and Communication.

Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Sciences: Catechetics Track

The first cycle of the Bachelor’s in Educational Sciences, Catechetics Track, aims to train educators, individuals who develop professional competence at an intermediate level between that of the direct operator (catechist and basic animator) and the specialized operator (expert with a Licentiate or Doctorate degree). Specifically, this profile includes pathways for the preparation of trainers in the field of catechesis, capable of critically using pedagogical tools, and qualified to train basic animators and catechists.

Licentiate in Educational Sciences: specialization in Catechetics

The second cycle of the Licentiate in Educational Sciences, specialization in Catechetics, aims to prepare competent individuals capable of operating in the fields of initial proclamation and community catechesis, enabling them to organize, manage, and promote activities in various sectors.

The study program fosters the acquisition of the following skills:
